Cycle of Life
I think that this is a very apt picture:And yes, I've modified it a little to fix the aspect ratio for my monitor(s), and made it into my current wallpaper.

I don't really know the original source, but this one was gotten from here. There are lots of random + yucky stuff there, but among the rabblement, gems can be found.
